The full day program is an in-depth session that will focus on the unique provisions related to encryption under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) licensing officers will cover a variety of topics, including:

  • Determining if your items are controlled in Category 5, Part 2 of the EAR
  • Mass market and license exception ENC
  • Commodity classification requests and reporting requirements
  • Applying for an encryption license
  • The latest updates to the encryption provisions in the EAR

Presenters will be available throughout the day to address specific questions of attendees.

Instructors: The instructors are experienced BIS export policy specialists from BIS’ Information Technology Division and Office of Exporter Services.

Location / Time: Crowne Plaza, San Jose/Silicon Valley, 777 Bellew Drive, Milpitas, CA 95035. Registration and continental breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. The program begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m.

A limited number of rooms have been reserved at $239 per night.  Complimentary shuttle transportation to and from San Jose International Airport and complimentary parking is available.

Room temperatures at the meeting cannot always be precisely controlled and can fluctuate dramatically – it is recommended that attendees dress in layers.

MCLE Credit: The Western Regional Office of the Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security is a State Bar of California approved MCLE provider. The amount of credit varies with the length of the seminar.
