We are seeking an Export Control Classification Specialist with a proven background in technical and export control domains to contribute to the enhancement of our export control program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • 3+ years of import/export compliance experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of Export Control Classification determinations, including ITAR and EAR.
  • Legally authorized to work in the US.
  • Compliance with ITAR requirements, necessitating US citizenship, permanent residency, political asylum, or refugee status.
  • Proficient in multitasking within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the capacity to articulate complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical data for export classifications.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Results-oriented with autonomy in task management.
  • Proficient time management skills, capable of setting and prioritizing tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate technical data from various sources such as engineering databases, procurement records, supplier portals, and internal systems to classify export goods.
  • Analyze drawings, schematics, and technical information to determine appropriate export classifications, including USML and ECCN.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain departments to align functional requirements with Export Control strategic objectives.
  • Provide classification support to Engineering and other departments, addressing classification issues and facilitating training as necessary.
  • Assist with Import Classification tasks as required and be open to learning HTS classification.
  • Support Ruling requests and maintain documentation of classification determinations.
