Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of, and experience applying the U.S. Customs Regulations, including HTS, CFR 19, Explanatory Notes, Customs publications, and Schedule B to daily activities and exercising sound judgment.
  • Knowledge of, and experience applying the U.S. Export regulations and laws (ITAR, EAR, and OFAC) to daily activities and exercising sound judgment.
  • Experience with export licensing; commodity, software, technology and deemed export.
  • Experience working with issues of a global nature and interacting with company employees in other countries.
  • The ability to respond to inquiries and handle multiple simultaneous tasks while maintaining a positive approach at all times is essential in this environment.
  • A strong team member that is able to work collaboratively with others in a fast-pasted environment with demonstrated capabilities in problem-solving and/or development of standard operating procedures and processes.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with the ability to perform day-to-day account activities independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate (verbally and written in English) effectively with internal clients, coworkers, and senior leadership.
  • Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion and exercise good judgment.
  • Experience with SAP ERP and Global Trade Services (“GTS”)
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Asia-Pacific and EMEA export control regulations a plus
  • Knowledge of China’s export and import operations including China Customs, CIQ & MOFCOM regulations and requirements a plus



  • Facilitate trade while ensuring compliance with global export and import regulations
  • Interpret and apply U.S. Export regulations and laws (ITAR, EAR, and OFAC) to daily activities and exercise sound judgment.
  • Properly classify parts, tooling, software, and technology using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the U.S. (HTSUS), Schedule B, the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), as needed.
  • Utilizing SAP ERP Systems and GTS along with other applications and tools, determine whether internal orders and customer orders can be shipped internationally per Export Compliance guidelines and practices, US government regulations, Import Country requirements, Financial Status, and any other export considerations.
  • Monitor and support AES filings, EEI corrections, AES verify compliance, late, and rejected messages, etc.
  • Respond to Census, BIS, OFAC, DDTC, and Customs inquiries as assigned
  • Execute all export and/or import compliance procedures relative to assigned job functional area (i.e. activities of assigned area(s), typically of both Core Foreign Trade areas and special project level, to ensure compliance).
  • Participate in compliance reviews, projects, and training efforts; act on behalf of Foreign Trade Management, as required.
  • Assist in coordinating and developing detailed compliance solutions with other departments.
  • Interact effectively with a diverse group of individuals and work well as a team member.
  • Must be open to challenges, new ideas, and change. Must be able to handle multiple priorities and work well under pressure.
