Wolfspeed is in search of an Export Compliance & Licensing Specialist. This position will report to the Manager, Global Trade Compliance and Licensing, and support Wolfspeed Inc.’s Global Trade Compliance (GTC) function. Duties will include export license management, shipment authorization, audits, and other compliance activities within the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2+ years related experience Export Administration Regulations; Commerce Control List licensing preferred
  • Working knowledge of Export Control Classification Number classification process, experience with Chapter 3 – Electronics preferred
  • Experience with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) is a plus
  • Experience with OCR EASE preferred
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to adapt and prioritize with changing situations
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills to drive tasks to completion
  • Harmonized Tariff Classification experience preferred
  • Experience at a high-tech, defense contractor or semiconductor firm preferred
  • Excellent communication and effective interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organization, presentation, and writing skills
  • Attention to detail and are accurate in execution of any task
  • Ability to complete complex tasks in creative and effective ways

Responsibilities

  • Provide cross-functional support gathering information to determine export licensing needs and utilize license exceptions when applicable
  • Perform transaction due diligence and perform red flag analysis to evaluate any potential risks
  • Review documentation to prepare complex license applications, monitor license applications and resolve any issues with the licensing agent and customer service as needed.
  • Manage license activity, ensure all license conditions are completed and adhered to, perform license activity reviews to identify and resolve any discrepancies to prevent trade disruptions
  • Analyze and interpret export regulations (specifically Export Administration Regulations) and maintain current knowledge of changes and updates
  • Support special projects as needed
  • Assist with business to review and release export license order holds in a timely manner
