Responsible for all aspects of regulatory compliance with federal agencies, support branch operations, sales, customer service and the administration of corporate policy.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Customs
  • Comprehensive knowledge of US Customs and other governmental agency laws, regulations and procedures governing the customs brokerage and the international freight forwarding
  • Minimum 15-years of Customs brokerage and the international freight forwarding industry experience.
  • Effective writing, communication and managerial
  • Maintain relationship with governmental officials, senior management, managers, supervisors and associates.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred

LANGUAGE SKILLS

English is the principal language for this position.  This position requires good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively in a diverse multicultural environment.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and other technical software is required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit.  The employee is occasionally required to walk and use hand and eye coordination.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.  The employee must be able to travel and drive a vehicle.

WORK HOURS AND ENVIRONMENT

The current work schedule for the position is Monday – Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Insure compliance with federal regulations and insure employees are informed of changes in regulatory matters
  • Insure regulatory compliance standards are maintained
  • Improve efficiencies by sponsoring and implementing continuous improvement activities such as analyzing and improving current work processes
  • Improve competence and abilities of company employee’s by promoting personal growth through technical education
  • Maintain professional and managerial competency by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional industry associations
  • Maintain positive working relationships with U.S. Customs and other governmental agency personnel
  • Represent the company at various industry functions that involve Customs, customers and third party service providers
  • Insure both customer service standards and customer satisfaction levels are maintained

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

BRANCH AND CORPORATE

  • Report generation for clients
  • Perform structured testing on enhancements, upgrades and programs
  • Support branch operations (management, brokerage and export personnel)
  • Fielding import / export compliance questions from branch personnel and clients
  • Researching import / export compliance issues
  • Assist with preparing presentations
  • Research duty rates for branch offices and customers
  • Assist with RFI and RFQ response documents
  • Maintaining and updating procedures
  • Participate on cross-functional or project teams

EXPORT OPERATIONS

  • Assist with resolving monthly AES / ACE Reports
  • Fielding export compliance questions from station personnel and from client
  • Researching export compliance issues
  • Exercising due diligence on exports shipments destined to Sanctioned Countries
  • Exercising due diligence on ITAR shipment being exported from the S
  • Approving or disapproving export transactions
  • Performing compliance assessments of export operations
  • Establishing compliance improvement measures
  • Problem resolution with client, branch operations and government agencies
