Logistics Regulatory Compliance Supervisor

Location: USA- Colorado Springs
The Logistics Regulatory Compliance Supervisor assists the WW Logistics and Import Compliance Director to provide guidance to Atmel’s on all decisions that have import/export impact on Atmel’s Global operations.
    Qualifications: Mandatory skills:
• Strong knowledge in regulatory compliance and logistics
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
• Ability to relate to persons at all corporate levels.
• Strong verbal/written communication skills, ability to work cross functionally with professionalism and diplomacy.
• Good management skills.
Preferred skills:
• Broker’s certification
• Financial analysis
• Strong computer and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills, extremely detailed and accurate

Education:
• BA Degree
Experience:
• 5+ years experience in transportation/logistics and import/export management.
• Experience with third party logistics partners management
• Great carrier and broker contacts
    Responsibilities: Responsibilities:
Import compliance
Implement and maintain Import Compliance Policies and Procedures
Classify materials (HTS), investigate binding rulings
Ensure Atmel’s compliance with U.S Custom’s and all state, federal, environmental, safety regulations on imports. prepare other government agency documentation (OGA) when requested; i.e., FCC, FDA
Work with the finance department on U.S customs valuation and reconciliation.
Manage broker’s relation: POA, training. Monitor performance and maintain audits.
Ensure duties and taxes drawback when applicable
Obtain and maintain security compliance certification CTPAT (US), EAO (EU)
File records accordingly to regulations. Organize and maintain documentation efficiently
Export compliance
Assists in the development of automated solutions relating to customs transactions clearing shipments for export controls, screening and licensing.
Assist with HTS classification of products and ECCN (under legal responsibility) as necessary while maintaining adequate technical and legal back up documentation.
Provide guidance on Country of Origin, NAFTA Certificates of Origin,
Collaborate with Export Compliance legal department, to comply with ITAR or BIS regulations on export, including order processing, auditing, monitoring, record keeping and screening.
Duty and tax Optimization.
In relation with Tax Direction, provides guidance on Importations and intra community deliveries
Ensure compliance audits (pre entries and post entries) and trainings
Other responsibilities include:
Manage US Atmel import compliance teams (in Colorado Spring)
External interface with Customs and other export control administrations (BEA, ITAR…).
Interface with Atmel departments dealing with regulatory compliance, including Legal, Tax, Finance, SOX, Sales, Marketing
