Import/Export Compliance Specialist
Location: Western Connecticut
Reports To: Global Trade Compliance Manager
Responsibilities will include:
Assist in classifying parts and products using USHTS and EAR regulations
Monitor country of origin determination and marking on purchased parts and final products
Assist with import entry process and filing
Submit SED through AES
Track freight shipments to ensure properly received at destination
Complete advanced shipping documentation including use of customer specific forms
Issue NAFTA Certificates and review all NAFTA Certificates issued by suppliers
Ensure record keeping requirements are followed and that records are accessible
Perform annual audit of files/ self assessment of for compliance
Assist sourcing and supply chain personnel with any problems that may arise with any import or export shipment
Work with Compliance Manager and Finance personnel for reconciliation /cost submission annually
Perform order screening functions as applicable
Assist in the development, implementation and evolution of policies and procedures
Requirements
Bachelors degree is desired
Must have minimum 3 5 years experience in export, logistics, supply chain and trade administration
Must be trained and have solid understanding of : EAR, HTS, Country of Origin determination and marking and Free Trade Agreements including but not limited to NAFTA
Effectively interact with all employees, globally
Must be willing to travel if needed
Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office
